Happy Halloween week, besties! 🎃welcome back for another spooky case! Today’s case is totally bizarre, illogical, and deeply haunting that after you read it, you’re going to sit there scratching your head wondering HOW!?

📍 Destination: Woodland Park, Colorado- Circa May 2008 📍

Joshua’s Disappearance- May 8, 2008

Joshua Vernon Maddux was born on March 9, 1990 in Colorado Springs. He lived with his father, Mike, his older brother Zach, (whom lost his life to suicide) and two older sisters named Ruby and Katie.

In May 2008, 18- year old Joshua Maddux was a creative, music-loving, well-liked high school student living in Colorado with his family in Woodland Park, Colorado.

📍Woodland Park, Colorado-May 8, 2008:

On a bright Spring day, Joshua told his family he was going out for a calm walk in the nature areas around his house. He was in great spirits, loved being outdoors, and frequently took long walks to clear his head.

He walked out of the front door.. never came back. His family and local authorities launched massive searches across the surrounding woods, trails, and town. But month after month passed, turning into seven long years, with zero trace of Josh. His clothes were neatly folded inside the cabin.

Seven years later- August 2015

When a construction crew received order to tear down an abandoned, rotting wooden cabin located just two miles from Josh’s family home.

Joshua was found head first in the fetal position folded inside the chimney. What’s even weirder is that there was a metal mesh covering on the chimney to keep out animals. How did Josh bypass that? Was he forced in the chimney?

Chilling when you sit down and think about it. It’s very unusual for someone to be in a narrow space like a chimney. I am honestly surprised that there isn’t any more news coverage or articles about this.

Despite the unusual circumstances of his death, he seemed like he was a very, very nice guy. So devastating that this happened.
