🧡Happy Monday! Cheers to another week. This isn’t just an ordinary week.. it’s Halloween week!! Spooky. The case I have for you today is one I learned about last night, and it blew my mind.
Today, we’re taking a deep dive into the unexplained and the supernatural. This story will leave you completely stunned. And definitely a bit spooked.
The main destination in this case is Seattle, so to get the full context of this case, we first must begin in San Francisco, California (Spring 1991) Christopher Case was a 35-year old music executive. By all accounts a healthy, rational, and grounded guy who didn’t spend his time looking into the paranormal or alternative beliefs. He was in California on routine business when he met a woman through mutual acquaintances.
According to reports from his close friends after the incident, the encounter took a dark turn when the woman expressed a romantic interest in Chris, and he politely declined. Unhappy with the rejection, she made a chilling claim before they parted ways: she told him she was a practicing witch, placed a curse on him, and warned that he had only one week left… to live.
At the time, Christopher brushed it off as a bizarre, uncomfortable encounter. He was a practical, sensible person who didn’t believe in curses. He got on his flight back to Seattle, expecting to pick his normal life right back up where he left it, but….
He had no idea that within three days, his entire reality and mental state would completely unravel.
The Descent: Seattle, Washington: April 1991
When Chris returned to his Seattle apartment, he tried to carry on as normal. But within 48 hours, fear completely took over. Christopher began making frantic phone calls to his closest friends. He reported hearing whispering voices echoing through his empty apartment, seeing dark shapes moving in the shadows, and feeling an overwhelmingly physical force pressing down on his chest in the middle of the night.
For a man who had never believed in the supernatural, his reaction was swift and desperate. He transformed his living space into a fortress.
- Protective Symbols: He bought dozens of crucifixes, rosaries, and religious figures, hanging them over every single doorway and window frame.
- Salt Barriers: Thick lines of salt were poured along the baseboards, walls, and entryways to keep the dark forces out.
- Continuous Rituals: Dozens of candles were burned around the clock while soft religious music played on a loop.
By day five, exhausted, and terrified, Christopher confessed to a friend “ I’m not going to make it to the weekend.”
Bone. Chilling.

The Discovery: April 18, 1991- Seattle, Washington
On April 18, 1991, exactly one week after the encounter in San Francisco, concerned friends of Chris called the Seattle police to conduct a welfare check after Chris stopped answering his phone.
When they stepped inside the apartment, they found a scene that looked like it was out of a horror movie:
- The apartment was dark, illuminated only by burned-down candle stubs.
- Religious music was still quietly playing on repeat.
- Unbroken lines of salt boarded the room.
Inside the bathroom, police found Christopher Case dead. He was fully clothed, kneeling inside a completely dry bathtub with his head resting against the side wall.
There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of a struggle, no drugs or alcohol in his system, and no physical injuries on his body.
The coroner later determined his cause of death was acute heart failure. At 35 years old, with no prior history of heart conditions, Christopher Case had quite literally been scared to death.
My Thoughts/ Theories:
When I was learning about this case, I realized that it is pretty much in verbatim with the movie Drag Me to Hell. An excellent, excellent film if I do say so myself. In the film there’s a woman who is working at a bank, (or some place similar) when this old woman came in begging for an extension on a loan. I may be off about the plot, but it’s as if life is imitating art or vice versa.
I myself do believe in the supernatural. It’s highly possible that maybe he did encounter someone with actual powers. That or he got himself worked up into a frenzy and it took a massive toll on his body.
Chris was only 35 years old. That’s an awful young age to die from a heart failure. Although I know it does happen. Regardless of whether or not there’s any truth to this, it’s still sadly tragic.
And that is the story of Christopher Case.
Rest In Peace, Christopher 🤍🕊️
Until next time! 🧡🖤 L.W.
