Hey guys. I have compiled a list of five cases that I find interesting, and that I will be writing about in the near future. I hope you all enjoy!

Case # 1: The Eerie Disappearance of Zebb Quinn

Side Note: It has been a long time since I haved looked back at this case, so I found out that Zebb’s case was solved after I looked it up. He unfortunatley was murdered by a dumb ass man named Robert Jason Owens. Who was indited in 2017 for first-degree murder. While it is a relief to hear that Zebb was killed, I am glad the case has been resolved even if the outcome wasn’t favorable.

Case Overview: Asheville, North Carolina- January 2, 2000

Back to the task at hand.. oh my god. I am not gonna issue a warning about that pic. I had to see it, and so do you guys. We can be traumatized together, because that, my friends is true friendship.

Zebb’s Disapperance: January 2, 2000- Asheville, North Carolina

It was a pretty late Sunday evening on January 2, 2000. 18 -Year old Zebb Quinn had just finished a shift at Walmart. At this time Zebb was enrolled in an ROTC program.

After work, he had planned to travel to Leicester with Robert Jason Owens.

He was reported missing by his mother that afternoon.

So fast forward to 2017, we have come to find an individual who was presumably a friend of Zebb’s and was the one responsible for his disappearance.

And what was the motive, you ask? Well none other than…Zebb had a girlfriend, a romantic interest if you will and I don’t know, Robert killed him because of that.

WHAT.

The fuck kinda shit ass motive is that? I need to start drinking more when I am blogging. Sometimes alcohol induced true crime work is a vibe.

AND I CAN DO IT REAL GOOD TOO. Even though I be lit but I am still a woman of business.

Final Thoughts: While this was a crime that was committed out of jealousy, pettieness, and stupidity, there was a family out there waiting for their son to come home. All because of a selfish as jerk. What the fuck ever.

And finally, finally, to Zebb Quinn:

My sweet darling sugar pie, May your soul rest in peace. If only we could we rewind the time and reverse it. Rest easy, Zebb.

Case # 2: The Mysterious Death of Kurt Sova: Newburgh Heights, Ohio October 23-28, 1981.

Fair warning: Since Kurt was 17 at the time, he was still a minor so if you find this topic not in your realm of comfort feel free to skip.

This episode was showcased on the original airing of “Unsolved Mysteries” I had watched it, and became baffled because what the hell happened to him?

On October 23, 1981, Kurt attended a party with some friends. As for the time period this takes place in, I feel like the usage of drugs and alcohol was a lot more accessible to minors at the time.

I wouldn’t know, fam cause I wasn’t here yet. ( It was a simpler time)

Anyway, Kurt was last seen on October 23, 1981. From what I can remember Kurt attended a party with a friend of his. This person said that Kurt was heavily intoxicated, so he was just about to take Kurt home I believe. Kurt’s friend went back inside to get Kurt’s jacket. When he got back… Kurt was gone.

I actually do have a post on this case already, so you can check it out if you’d like.

My timbers are shivered by this. A few days later, three young boys found a body in the ravine.

It was Kurt Sova. He was found dead, only wearing one shoe; his right shoe was missing.

After Kurt’s body was found, some weird shit happened. A stranger man dude walked into a record store and noticed the missing persons sign in the window, and told the manager to take it down.

Bitch, what? Oh hell no. I would fight this guy for several reasons.

I am sorry. I got a wee bit heated. So he also told the manger that the person on it (Kurt Sova) would be found dead in TWO days.

I say again: BITCH WHAT.

Then he left some “I Know What You Did Last Summer” shenanigans by leaving a note??

The record store manager read it and it said; Roses are red, the sky is blue. They found him dead, and they’ll find you too.

Girl, I would send a message back immediately. Cause who is you talking to, chat?

Ironically this is what happened. I have no idea if this person was involved or not, but it was creepy.

I am also convinced that his life was boring. His future? Bleak af. So he was like “imma cause some trouble.” Probably a random man who was just catching a vibe.

There were no signs of any physical trauma on Kurt. So if I had to throw out a theory, I would say it was something he ate/ or drank at that party. Parties have a whole bunch of drugs, alcohol, pretty much any kinda high they can find.

Perhaps Kurt died of alcohol poisoning? Did someone stumble upon his body and just drag him to the ravine cause they didn’t know what else to do.

However, Kurt’s cause of death remains unknown.

To Kurt: What a sweet, young, sunshine boy. All the best ones always leave for heaven early. Rest well, Kurt ❤

Case # 3: The Unexplained Death of Kenneka Jenkins

September 10, Chicago, Illinois:

Kenneka’s case is one that has many things swirling around. With that being said, I am not gonna make any assumptions.

On September 8, 2017, 19-year old Kenneka Jenkins attended a private party at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel in nearby Rosemont .

Also in attendance were Kenneka’s friends. The party was held in room 926 of the hotel; Kenneka arrived at 1:13 a.m. Saturday.

A witness at the party had noticed that Kenneka was behaving very strangely. According to this witness, Kenneka was swaying around back and forth.

Several other witnesses had reported that they had seen Kenneka drinking Cognac, but did not see her partake in of marijuana or other drugs.

Other onlookers noticed that she wasn’t acting as “her usual self”, noting that she was dancing by herself, and appeared to be sad.

There is a surveillance video of Kenneka roaming the halls of the hotel alone. She was staggering, holding onto the walls,appearing intoxicated near the front desk at 3:30 a.m. Five minutes later, she was seen leaving the elevator on the lower floors.

Final footage Kenneka walking into the kitchen towards the direction of the freezer… she was never seen again.

One day, I hope that the truth of what happened to Kenneka Jenkins that night will be revealed. You never know, it’s not impossible. Most importantly, I hope that Kenneka’s loved ones have been able to find peace. I can’t even begin to imagine what they feel; my unconditional love will forever be with them.

A message to Kenneka: Kenneka, you were so very young and had so much ahead of you. Life is really, really unfair. You will always live through the spirit of your loved ones, and your light will never be dimmed from this world. Rest well, Kenneka.

Case # 4: The Disappearance and Murder of Alonzo Brooks

Fair Warning: Alonzo’s case deals with the subject of racism. As a person of color myself, these kinds of things are infuriating. If this too much of a sensitive topic, feel free to skip this part. I know we all have our opinions and I have mine; we can agree to disagree.

Lacynge, Kansas: April 3, 2004

Alonzo Brooks was a young man who disappeared on April 3, 2004 while attending a party with his “friends” in Lacynge, Kansas.

Lacynge is a predominately white rural town in Linn County, with a population of just over 1,000 residents.

Due to Alonzo’s disappearance and murder, Lacynge had received intense scrutiny and allegations of racial hostility.

According to investigators, there were people at the party throwing racial slurs Alonzo’s direction. Stemming from this caused on altercation that started on the side of the individual(s) who started shouting racial slurs. Thus we know that it was not Alonzo who started any instigation, but was rather a victim in the presence of… well drunken assholes. And they are still assholes sober.

While I won’t say that the town itself was inherently racist, so we are only going to hold the person(s) responsible for Alonzo’s death.

Over the course of the night, Alonzo had experienced racial slurs, and hostility from individuals who did not like people of color.

We can say that alcohol was also a factor in this case as well. Even though the individual(s) at the party were throwing racial slurs, the alcohol made them bolder.

When you take into account of Alonzo’s personality, demeanor, and his stature of being a physically fit man to handle himself, these circumstances were most definitely because the odds were stacked against him.

I also think that when you attend a party with friends, make sure you leave together. Not separately, together. It’s stupid that Alonzo’s “friends” did not have his back.

If you are a true friend, then you would defend your friend if they are on the receiving end of racial slurs, then it would be a good time to jump in.

At the very least make sure that your friends have a way HOME. It’s not that hard.

May 1st, 2004: Lacynge, Kansas:

You really have to hand it to Alonzo’s family. Because through their resiliency, they kept asking, demanding, and pursing questions. As every family should in tragic situations like this.

Alonzo’s family traveled to Lacynge to find Alonzo since he failed to return home the night of the party. On May 1, 2004, Alonzo’s family was granted permission to search the property where Alonzo was last seen.

Unfortunately, they found Alonzo’s body on the banks of middle creek adjacent to the house that he was last seen.

A case reopen:

In June 11, 2020, the FBI reopened Alonzo’s case and issue a $100,00 reward for information related to Alonzo’s death.

Alonzo’s “friends”:

I have much to say about his so called friends. I know they have talked about the night Alonzo disappered, the party, etc. I really don’t care what they have to say, because they failed Alonzo. They should have never left him alone considering the circumstances; racial slurs, drunk violent men, a rural area.

There’s really nothing that they can say that will make this any easier. His friends were not real friends and are all shady af.

I will leave it at that.

I must admire the strength of the Brook’s family for being relentless in the pursuit of justice. Since the case is still open, here’s to hoping that the responsible parties will be caught, and punished.

Even though this happened in 2004, I know that there will be justice.

Here’s to trusting the promise, and wishing Alonzo’s family all the best and to finally finding some peace.

To Alonzo: What happened to you will forever be unfair. If only you were in the company of people who loved you. It’s a shame to lose someone so young, with so much promise and a kind soul into the world. I hope it’s beautiful where you are. Rest well, Alonzo.

Case # 5: The Strange Disappearance of Tammy

Cocoa Beach, Florida: July 6, 1983

Fair warning: In this portion of the post, I will talk heavily, or somewhat heavily about matters of sex, drugs, exposure, and corruption. Discretion is advised.

On July 6, 1983, Tammy was last seen in Cocoa Beach, Florida. On that day she was reportedly seen wearing a blue denim shirt decorated with flowers, along with a matching skirt, a grey purse, and sandals.

Some people say they saw Tammy barefoot and presumably with no money. Authorities learned from a friend of Tammy’s that they had been arguing and he just left Tammy in the parking lot. He was the last person to see Tammy before she vanished. Her mother mentioned that Tammy was afraid of him.

Tammy was an 18-year old actress, model, and beauty queen.

I watched an episode of ‘Unsolved Mysteries‘ on this. If the dramatization is close, it sounds like there was someone that Tammy was afraid of.

Before her disappearance, she had finished filming a movie called “Spring Break” one weekend Tammy attended a party alone and came back a “different person”

In Unsolved Mysteries, Tammy was depicted as being very paranoid and convinced someone was out to hurt her.

Hollywood. A place where the dreamers flock, and the dreams come true.

I do not know what happened to Tammy so take this next part with a grain of salt, and some thoughtfulness.

This may be a long shot but upon thinking about the party attended, she went by herself. She was only 18-years old. This case takes place in the early 80s; One thing I have noted when I watch an 80s film are the party scenes, you know if it’s a movie that centers around that.

So, who was throwing the party? We don’t know. During this time period I feel like it was a lot easier to get away with a lot of things; you’ve got alcohol, meth, cocaine, heroin you name it at these functions.

There’s a reason why men are depicted as scumbags in 80s movies. It’s because that was the true nature of how they were. And with Tammy being young, attractive and making her way into the industry, it could have made her a target.

I will throw out a wild theory that perhaps Tammy accidentally stumbled upon something she should have not seen, and whoever saw Tammy, wanted to ensure her silence.

Did a murder occur at the party? Was there a drug trade of some kind going down?

Final thoughts: Nobody ever found out what happened to Tammy, who is behind her vanishing, or whom she was afraid of. It also sounds to me like that something wicked went down at the party. I rewatched the episode Unsolved Mysteries did on this case.

A person commented that schizophrenia could possibly be a factor. It is unknown if this is true so take it only as a theory. The episode also mentioned the possibility of money laundering; which is another one of my theories as well.

To Tammy: Wherever you are, whatever happened to you, may we find out the truth. The truth always comes to light, no matter how much time has passed.

^ this one is different due to the fact that we don’t know for certain if Tammy is alive, or dead. I am choosing to believe maybe she left town and found somewhere safe.
