True Crime

Justice begins here

Blog Plans, updates, and more. 🌌

Hey 👋 everyone!! I hope you’re all doing very well. I’m doing great, summer vacation has been great so far and I am loving it.

I wanted to hop on here and share some of my ideas with you. I’d like to be a little bit more active on here, so I plan to start queuing posts so that way my blog stays active while I research.

Researching is a very time consuming process and writing down certain details, looking at evidence, and for the next case I am deep diving into, has been rather heavy. I’ll give you a snippet below 🌟

✨Disclaimer✨ I am just an independent researcher so I can’t outright explicitly say or accuse anyone of any crimes✨ I WILL however share my opinions within a certain boundary. With that being said, let’s get into the cases I have been working on.

  1. The Disappearance and unusual Death of Joshua Maddux (Woodland Park, Colorado, 2008)
Joshua Maddux

Often referred to as “The Boy In The Chimney” Joshua was an 18- year old recent high school graduate before he went missing on May 8th, 2008. He left his home for a routine walk as he enjoyed the outdoors, but he never returned home. Initially his family didn’t panic as Joshua was known to be a free spirit.

Five days later on May 13th, 2008, Joshua was reported missing by his father. His family tired to contact Joshua’s friends and acquaintances but no one had seen or heard from Joshua.

Seven years later, in August 2015, the cabin’s owner Chuck Murphy had the cabin demolished. But while demolition was taking place, workers found mummified remains inside the chimney. They were later confirmed via dental records that the remains belonged to Joshua Maddux.

Ever since then the manner of death was ruled accidental due to hypothermia or dehydration. Joshua was found in the chimney wearing only a thermal shirt.

There are many things wrong with this case;

  1. What time did Joshua leave for his walk?
  2. How long did his walks usually last?
  3. Did anyone see Joshua walking that day?
  4. What led Joshua to the abandoned cabin?

These are just some of the answers we don’t know. If I had to guess, I THINK Joshua left home mid/late afternoon or early evening since his family was at least thinking he’d be home for dinner.

The cabin itself was only a mile away from Joshua’s home. How the hell did he get in the chimney? On the inside, there was a large breakfast nook blocking the chimney entrance. On top of the chimney was a mesh/metal gate that was intended to keep out any animals.

If Joshua voluntarily got inside the chimney, he would have had to bypass the mesh gate.

If Joshua entered from the inside, in which his clothing was found neatly folded by the heath. How would Joshua get in with a large breakfast nook blocking the entrance.

Another possibility could be foul play; however, neither myself nor anyone else has been able to pinpoint the presence of another person. If Joshua wasn’t alone, then who was he with? This is a tough case but I am going to still be following it to see what I can find and hopefully more information will become available as time goes on, I hope.

2. Spreckles Mansion Deaths: Max Shacknai and Rebecca Zahau (Coronado, California, 2011)

Rebecca Zahau

In the summer of 2011, Rebecca Zahau accompanied her boyfriend Jonah Shacknai, to his home in Coronado, California, (Spreckles Mansion) on July 11th, 2011, six-year old Max Shaknai had fallen from a two story banister, due to this he sustained severe injuries.

Rebecca’s sister, Xena, called 911 as Max was unresponsive. This event launched one of the most controversial murder mystery; Rebecca Zahau.

Rebecca Zahau

On July 13th, two days after Max’s fall, Rebecca Zahau was found dead hanging from a balcony with her hands tied behind her back, her ankles bound, and she was gagged. The San Diego Police Department was contacted by Adam Shaknai, the younger brother of Jonah Shacknai.

Upon arrival, paramedics pronounced Rebecca dead. They then proceeded to evaluate the crime scene and came to the conclusion that due to Max’s life threatening injuries, Rebecca had “committed suicide” as a result.

However, the crime scene itself reads an entirely different narrative.

I’d like to point out how it’s physically impossible for a person to gag themselves, tie their hands behind their backs, and then bind their ankles. The red nylon rope that was wrapped around Rebecca was tied to the bed, possibly to push the suicide narrative even further.

BUT if that was the case, Rebecca would have had to hop, or drag herself to the balcony and fling herself off the railing.

✨staged suicide✨ gotta love it 😉

Rebecca’s family refused to accept this as a final answer as there was both evidence and a more logical explanation for how Rebecca died.

According to autopsy reports, Rebecca had four blows to the head (blunt force trauma) which would render her unconscious or deceased.

Another thing is that there was motive here, Max died a few days after Rebecca did. A lot of people find Max’s death very suspicious.

As genuinely sad as Max’s death was, accidents CAN happen. I see no angle from his end for it to have been foul play as at the time it was only; Rebecca, Xena, (Rebecca’s sister) and Max at the mansion.

On that night Rebecca, Jonah, and Adam went out to dinner with a man named Howard. Later, both Rebecca and Adam returned to the mansion. According to Adam, he took a pill (Ambien) and went to sleep.

Shacknai claims he didn’t hear any noises. They then proceeded guest room was in pretty close proximity to the part where Rebecca was.

What happened to Rebecca Zahau on that violent night?

I’d also like to say that I find it highly unlikely that anyone would commit suicide, why would they do so naked? Why write a letter in the third person? Why PAINT as message on the walls??

Stay tuned for these two cases. Meanwhile, I’ll be covering more cases in either short articles or just a full on story about a case. I’ve yet to decide.

I plan on returning to Emanuela Orlandi’s case next month. Which will give me time to research. For Emanuela I plan on doing a mini deep dive.

Rebecca Zahau’s case is at the top of my roster, and for Joshua Maddux, I will be diving into that but I hit a wall so I will need to find another angle to approach with Joshua.

Thank you guys for reading, liking, and supporting my posts. It means so much to me! ✨
