Case Overview: On May 8, 2008, 18-year old Joshua Maddux told his family that he was going for a walk; Joshua had been known for his love for nature and his adventurous spirit.

However, Joshua never returned. Initially, his family wasn’t alarmed by this as they knew Joshua was known to be spontaneous. Several days went by and still no sign of Joshua. His father called friends of his to see if they had seen or heard from Joshua. Nobody had seen nor heard from him.

Joshua remained missing for seven years, until a (somewhat) breakthrough came on August 15, 2015. Construction workers were demolishing an abandoned cabin that was owned by Chuck Murphy (remember this name) before demolition could be completed, construction workers discovered a body in the chimney; belonging to 18-year old Joshua Maddux who went missing seven years earlier.

Joshua’s death was ruled accidental by coroner Al Born, stating that there were no signs of trauma, gunshot wounds, etc.

Weird, right? The weird part of this case is that there was said to be a wire mesh on top of the chimney to keep out pests and animals. So, how did Joshua get in the chimney.

Author’s note: So I do plan on making a full blown blog post about Joshua. This case has been sitting in my brain since May. And I am kinda ignorantly determined to find out what happened.

If it turns out that I can’t, at least I tried. There is a name connected to Joshua. A man named Andrew Newman. Newman has had a record of criminal activity since 2009.

Looks like I have to go to the trenches for this one, ya’ll. Oh well, I don’t think it hurts to try.

Cause Joshua will not return my phone calls. That’s rude, chat.
