True Crime & spooky Stories

Justice begins here

From New York, To Florida- The Kayla Hodgson Story- A follow up

Before I jump into the story, please check out my first blog post on this case! I will insert the link below:

I found this story on YouTube and the title had me reeling with sadness, disappointment, and anger.

It seems that people will go beyond measure to murder someone due to their own insecurities and demons that clearly need to be dealt with.

I understand heartbreak. We all understand heartbreak, but that doesn’t give us permission to transmute the pain and take the life of another.

That is exactly what Sakiyna Thompson did. She flew all the way from New York to Florida with the malicious intent to kill a young woman over her ex-boyfriend because he had moved on with Kayla.

Thompson stabbed Kayla to death in Kayla’s own apartment, on July 13th, 2022. Thompson was recently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of 23-year old, Kayla Hodgson.

I couldn’t be more happier that justice has been DELIVERED! SERVED! as it should.

Thompson was sentenced on Monday, December 1st, 2025.

My message to Sardinia, I MEAN Sakiyna: Bitch, you crazy. Over a SIMPLE man. Who was possibly a SCRUB. Now you’ll never get a man a again. LOLZ.

Now that’s out of my system, let’s talk about Kayla ❤

Kayla Hodgson

Kayla was a beautiful, bright, young women with a big future. I bet she was the sweetest person that you could ever stumble upon.

Given her sweet nature, a former coworker at the bar she was working at had this to say about her:

“Swana Alphonse, Hodgson’s former employer and friend, told NBC Miami that she was well-known as a South Florida bottle waitress. He also said, “She was just really sweet. She was the life of the party. She always had kind words.”

I plan on circling back to Kayla’s case. For now I will leave it here. I hope you all enjoyed reading and if you took even the smallest time out of your day to view this, I thank you! That means a lot to me!

Until next time, L.W.
